Christmas Day is fast approaching and we’d like to share some of the festive fun we’ve been having over the last few weeks. All made possible by the generosity of our supporters.
We hope you enjoy reading about how you’ve helped us make Christmas special for families facing childhood cancer. And if you’re able to, and haven’t already, please help us create more happy memories into the New Year by making a small donation to our Christmas Appeal.
We hope you and your family have a very happy Christmas!
Kicking off December with a Christmas Party

The first day of December saw children excitedly opening their advent calendars and getting ready to launch the month of Christmas at our wonderful PASIC Party.
A magical start to the month! Singing and dancing, party games, crafts, food and laughter. Plus a visit from the big man himself – Mr Claus!
An important opportunity for families going through horrible times to have fun together away from the hospital ward. We wanted to make Christmas special for them.
Choo Choo – all aboard the Santa Express
Our annual steam train ride was on track to deliver magical memories. 68 children and their families joined us at Quorn & Woodhouse Station on Friday 6th December.
They delighted in a heart-warming festive adventure. Santa and his jolly helpers came along for the ride, handing out presents and mince pies to children and their families.
A huge thank you to Great Central Railway for making this event possible.
Pantomime trips in FIVE different cities.
This year we made sure hundreds of people impacted by childhood cancer got to experience the fun and laughter of a Christmas panto.
Oh yes we have!
“Thank you for our panto trip. It was fab!” Said Raffaella’s family (pictured above).
Special delivery! Christmas Eve Boxes on their way
The elves have been busy at PASIC and a record-breaking number of Christmas Eve Boxes are on their way to children and young people with cancer.
Inspired by the Scandinavian tradition of exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve, we’ve made sure these boxes are like a warm hug to children who have been through so much this year.
They’ll be delivered to children currently on treatment, such as five-year-old Evie, pictured above with her sister, making paper chains from their Christmas Eve Box.
Packed full of toys, mini games, cosy socks, chocolate, candy canes, books, reindeer feed and magic snow. Over 180 boxes will be opened by excited young people this Christmas.
Financial support at Christmas
We’ve also helped lots of families struggling to buy presents or food for Christmas dinner this year. Sadly, when a child is diagnosed with cancer, families face additional costs and many parents have to give up work to care for their child. Everyone deserves a special Christmas, so when a family tells us they’re struggling, PASIC is there to help.
