We’ve been busy bringing the fun to teenagers during February half-term. We asked, we listened and we delivered trips that teenagers told us they would enjoy.
A cancer diagnosis can be particularly tough for teenagers. Young people are left dealing with news even adults would struggle to cope with.
That’s why our teen trips are especially important! Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham
Seven teenagers enjoyed the Strictly Come Dancing live show in an executive box. Including 13-year-old Lukass who is currently receiving treatment for a brain tumour.
We would just love to say a huge thank you for such an amazing opportunity. It was an amazing evening and Lukass absolutely enjoyed it!”
Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey, Nottingham Ice Centre
Six teenagers watched Nottingham Panthers beat Coventry Blaze. Including 17-year-old Harrison who has been treated for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Silverstone Museum, Northamptonshire
Six teenagers had fun at Silverstone Motorsports Museum. Including 12-year-old Harley-William and his three brothers, 16-year-old William, and Caleb, also 16.
Pizza making at Peter Pizzeria, Loughborough
Six teenagers with cancer, plus their families, joined our Support Worker Toria for a fun pizza making session. They had a brilliant time making and topping their pizza before, of course, eating them!
Toria said: “They all loved it! They were having loads of fun together. It gave parents a chance to chat with other parents of teens with cancer. It also gave me chance to catch up with some families I haven’t seen for a while to find out how they’re doing.”
& Juliet at The Curve, Leicester
Five teenagers went to see this coming-of-age jukebox musical. Including 12-year-old Zuzanna who is currently on treatment for Leukaemia.
“Thank you so much for treating us. We both had a great time!” – Said Zuzanna’s mum.
Leicester Riders Basketball, Mattioli Arena, Leicester
Two teenagers and their families will be going to watch Leicester Riders take on Surrey 89ers on the 28th February for our final teen trip.
