We are incredibly honoured to have been awarded Charity of the Year in the Leicestershire Community Champion Awards 2024, hosted by the Furnley House Foundation, alongside some remarkable local charities.
The Leicestershire Community Champions Awards celebrate charities dedicated to supporting the local community, recognising those who make a demonstrable and meaningful impact.
For us at PASIC, this award is recognition of our hard work to ensure that no family in the East Midlands faces childhood cancer alone. Covering Leicestershire and beyond, our support services offer practical, financial, and emotional assistance to families throughout the challenges of a childhood cancer journey.
We aim not only to support families through some of the hardest times in their lives but also to bring moments of joy on difficult days. Through days out, activities, parties, and thoughtful gifts, we aim to give young people memorable experiences and provide families with some normality amid the uncertainty cancer brings.
We are delighted to have won this award! The £5,000 grant will go a long way in supporting our essential work, helping families navigate the challenging road through childhood cancer. We’d also like to extend our congratulations to our fellow finalists, the Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital and One Roof Leicester.
