In February 2023 we sent a survey to all PASIC families to find out what they thought of PASIC, what we’re doing well and what we might be able to improve.

75 families responded and here’s what we found out:

  • 85% of families were happy with the frequency of face-to-face contact with a PASIC Family Support Worker
  • 82% were happy with the level of contact they received via email, text and phone calls
  • A small number of families would like even more contact with a PASIC Support Worker

Our support worker made us feel like we had known her forever. She was really personable and really understood everything we were going through.”

We asked families what they thought of our activities and trips. Rating them 1-5 (1 being poor and 5 being excellent)

Here’s the percentage of families who rated the following excellent or good:

  • PASIC Welcome Bags: 100%
  • PASIC Movie Night Packs: 100%
  • Teenage Wellbeing Packs: 100%
  • PASIC Art Therapy Packs: 95%
  • Emotional Support Mood Bears: 96%
  • Ward handouts (e.g. toiletries, toys, food): 92%
  • Panto Trips: 91%
  • Alton Towers Trip: 86%
  • PASIC Santa Steam Train: 85%
  • PASIC Easter/Spring Parties: 80%
  • PASIC Christmas Parties: 75%

Additional comments:

We enjoyed spending time together, making memories and meeting other families in similar situations who understand each other.

We have enjoyed every trip we have been on with Pasic. It has really helped us as a family.

We had a care pack at the end of treatment that was so lovely and my daughter loved it. Blanket and pamper items. Spot on for my teen!

Art packs helped us get through long hospital appointments.

My son loves getting gifts, it always cheers him up massively, especially given the amount of time he has spent in hospital. There’s always a good variety of activities and age appropriate.

Pasic really listened to my child’s interests and sent gifts that were perfect.

Pasic charity are amazing, they give every child and family going through cancer a bit of happiness and hope.

You guys are great! Keep doing what you’re doing. Families like ours are very grateful for people like yourselves, who go above and beyond for our children.

Thanks to everyone who responded to our survey. Your feedback is much appreciated and will help us make sure our support for families facing childhood cancer is the very best it can be.
