I am a Registered Adult nurse and Registered Children’s nurse and have spent most of my nursing career working with children and young people, and their families, with life threatening and life limiting conditions. I have worked in the NHS as a children’s oncology nurse and in the community and was Director of Care at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People before moving into nurse education and completing my PG Cert whilst working as a Senior Lecturer at De Montfort University. I have recently joined Together for Short Lives, a charity helping families caring for a seriously ill child, as Head of Clinical Programmes. I have joined PASIC as a Trustee and hope to help the charity to further develop their support services. I live in Burbage in Leicestershire with my husband and a small, hairy dog (with a rather attractive beard). I have 2 daughters aged 22 and 19 years, Anna and Niamh.
